Geographical location
Château Fleur Cardinale, located to the South-East of the famous Saint-Emilion
plateau or "limestone table" in the Saint-Etienne-Lisse district, is
the ideal place to produce fully-mature, full-bodied grapes. Perfectly perched
on the heights of the "aux mille châteaux" appellation - 90 metres
above sea level - this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru gets its unique character from
carefully kept and meticulously worked vines.
Fleur Cardinale, in terms of cadastral size, is considered to be a "grand
domaine" (large estate): 18 hectares. Indeed, the 5,400-hectare appellation
(both Saint-Emilion and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru) is a patchwork of small wine
producers, an average of 5 hectares per château. |

Perfect harmony between pedology and varieties of vine
To achieve the desired results and quality requirements at all times, Fleur Cardinale
can count on the good drainage of its argilo-calcareous-based soils, which are behind the notoriety
of the wine from the Bordeaux region and in particular from
Saint-Emilion.
Enhanced by a rocky base with chalky concretions, our vineyard favours Merlot production which represents 70 %
of the plantation, the remaining 30 % shared evenly between Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
